Used Car Inspection Checklist
Use this checklist when viewing and test-driving a used vehicle in South Africa.
Exterior and tyres
Check panel gaps, paint variation, glass, lights, tyre age and even wear.
Interior and controls
Test seatbelts, air conditioning, windows, locks, infotainment and every warning light.
Engine and road test
Start the car cold where possible; listen for noises and check steering, brakes, gearbox and temperature.
Documents
Verify VIN and engine details, licensing papers, service history, keys, warranty and written terms.
